City Tow --- 6! City tow has come a long way over the years. The lines are fairly quick, but not too quick. You don't want the line too fast, or you miss the nut cases who start screaming about their six hundred dollars in past parking tickets. The bullet proof glass -- a hold over from the 20th Century -- assures you that the workers will not be physically harmed before it is your turn to get your car back. Now days, the City Tow is inside the Hall of Justice. Every citizen should visit the Hall of Justice to see the magnificant building funded in part by parking tickets. Come here and expect to pay $150 for the honor of seeing fellow citizens at their worst. I got towed twice this week!

Sammy's PetCo --- 1. Sammy's (Bryant St @ 16th St) used to be Sammy's pet world with a friendly, informed staff. Now, PetCo has bought it out and sold off all the spirt that was once there. There are always dead fish in the fish tanks, the guinea pigs all 'got sick', and the staff is mostly under 19 years old. The bedding for small animals costs more as well. There is one worker in the hamster/guinea pig area who used to be really friendly when the store was "Sammy's Pet World", now, the working conditions have turned her into a bitter employee.

Brain Wash --- 4. This place used to be a nine in my books. What happened??? This is what I do there: put my laundry in the machines, play pinball, move my laundry to the dryers, order and eat a Mediterranean platter with a coffee, and then fold my laundry and leave. I've done it in the past, and I did it today, and here are my comments: o The triple loader machine work perfectly. I jammed a lot of clothes in it. o All three pinball machines had problems. This irks me. Terminater has a broken drop target in the Skull so you can't get multiball, the flippers are weak on Lost in Space, and Junkyard is so slanted that the ball always drops down the right drain. o It gets worse from here: the dryers only give you 6 minutes for 25 cents. o The 'hummus' is gnarly. o The falafel (ground spiced chickpeas and fava beans fried into a ball shape) was not that great. o A tweaker was passed out in one of the chairs in the laundry area. o The bathrooms stink!
